Apostolic Faith Church – Memphis was founded on December 29, 2012, through the leading of the Lord and the faithful obedience of Brother Solomon Akinduro and his family. With no prior connections in the area and no nearby Apostolic Faith congregation, they answered God's call and relocated to Memphis to establish a new work for the Lord.
The church began with humble beginnings. Early services were held in Brother Solomon's office, followed by Sunday worship services at the Holiday Inn in Bartlett and midweek Bible studies at Panera Bread. Despite the challenges of frequent relocations and limited resources, the congregation steadily grew, strengthened by faith and supported by the prayers of believers throughout the global Apostolic Faith family.
A significant milestone was reached in December 2019 when, through God's provision and with only five committed members, the church purchased its permanent home at 8326 Macon Road in Cordova, a suburb of Memphis. The dedication service, held on December 12, 2019, was a joyful celebration of God's faithfulness. Friends, well-wishers, and members from sister churches in Hempstead, New York; St. Louis, Missouri; Atlanta, Georgia; Chicago, Illinois; and the local community gathered to share in this special occasion. Their support and fellowship remain a treasured part of our story.
We are deeply grateful for the encouragement and prayers of Pastor Mark Worthington, Brother Darrel Lee, Brother Bob Downey, and many others who faithfully supported this work. We also extend special appreciation to Brother Mayokun Akinrotimi and his wife for their tireless dedication and hands-on leadership in helping complete the church facility.
Since then, Apostolic Faith Church – Memphis has continued to grow both spiritually and numerically, sustained by God's grace and strengthened through the fellowship of the Apostolic Faith community. Today, we remain committed to proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ, building strong spiritual foundations, and serving the Memphis area with love, truth, and integrity.
To God be all the glory for His faithfulness through every season of our journey.
